“Memela Bush Lodge is a small intimate lodge that offers a truly authentic African experience.”
Guests stay in our traditional bush-style chalets or the tented camp. Each chalet has an en-suite shower and a bush toilet. The shower and toilet area is partly open and partly covered. We serve excellent home-cooked meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner and a picnic lunch is provided when guests are out on day excursions. The tented camp consists of six tents that share the use of ablution facilities and a kitchen.
There are a variety of wonderful activities to enjoy, from beach trips, whale watching, snorkelling, scuba diving for the qualified diver, and canoeing on the Siyadla River to cultural tours to local villages, a visit to the Tembe Elephant Park and the unforgettable turtle tours where guests can see giant sea turtles lay their eggs on our beaches.
The chalets are hidden between wild date palms and thick forest and are built to resemble traditional huts. Wake up to the sounds of the birds and hippos snorting when they return to the water for the day.
We offer an intimate close encounter with yourself in a unique location. Discover Kosi Bay, the Elephant Coast, and Maputaland with our excellent guides.
